History
This car was built in September of 1957 by the Budd Company of Philadelphia, PA as Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway #3541. This was the first car in an order of 14 identical baggage cars. The #3541 was sold to Amtrak in 1971 as #1055. It was converted to head-end power (HEP) in February of 1978 and renumbered as Amtrak #1230. Webb Rail acquired the car in 2019 and relocated it to the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum in Lenox, MA in 2021.
